Simple Gifts
As I see it, we err equally if we claim to be the worst of sinners, or the best of saints, for we are neither. We are simple human beings doing our best to make our way in life between despair and hope. God knows this, and understands. Whether we stray toward despair or reach toward hope, we are in the hands of God, and are God’s. And in this manner, to understand ourselves to be simple is higher wisdom than to claim to be better, or worse, than we are. This is the simple gift of God.
~ Fr. Will+
When true simplicity is gained,
to bow or to bend we will not be ashamed;
to turn, turn will be our delight,
’til by turning, turning, we come’round right.
